Madison Hospital’s Grand Opening Events
Thank you so much to all who attended the Madison Hospital "Baby Shower" on February 12! Event proceeds benefited the Mother/Baby unit at our new hospital, which is celebrating its grand opening this month. More than 65 guests enjoyed snacks, crafts, face painting, tours of the Mother/Baby and Nursery units, and more at this fun-filled family event.
The Madison Hospital Ladies Luncheon was held on February 15 in celebration of Madison Hospital’s grand opening. More than 250 women attended and were given the opportunity to taste and critique the offerings of the hospital’s Garden Café, as well as listen to speakers Mary Lynne Wright, Madison Hospital president, and Tasia Malakasis of Belle Chévre, a locally operated gourmet goat cheese creamery in Elkmont, Alabama. Following the luncheon, guests were given the opportunity to tour the new facility. Event proceeds benefited Madison Hospital. Thank you so much to all who joined us at this beautiful event in commemoration of our new hospital!
A huge “thank you” goes out to all who attended the “Medi Gras” Bash on February 18. This fun, festive party was held in honor of the grand opening of Madison Hospital and featured a casual buffet with New Orleans-style cuisine; live music provided by DiscOasis; fabulous live and silent auctions; a King Cake parade; a photo booth; and a special souvenir hurricane glass for each guest. Proceeds from the Bash, intended to become an annual event, benefited Madison Hospital. The excitement surrounding the opening of our newest community hospital was palpable, making the evening a truly memorable celebration of this once-in-a-lifetime event!
The Grand Opening Gala, held on February 24, was an elegant, black-tie optional affair held in the Madison Hospital atrium and attended by more than 450 guests. Attendees found themselves in the company of many special guests including local, state and federal dignitaries, hospital contractors and vendors from across the southeastern United States, as well as hospital and Foundation Board members, donors and friends supporting the Huntsville Hospital Health System and Madison Hospital. The evening began with a champagne reception featuring the melodies of Huntsville Symphony Orchestra harpist Katherine Newman, followed by a formal 4-course dinner catered by hospital staff. Guests also enjoyed a special grand opening ceremony and hospital tours.
February 26 proved to be a tremendous day for Madison when more than 1,000 friends and neighbors toured areas of the hospital that will never again be open to the public. The official ribbon cutting was a special moment for many people who have worked for years to bring a hospital to western Madison County.
